One of the highest observation towers in Latvia (32 m), from which a beautiful sight to Daugava can be viewed.

Stone is 2.8 m long, and high - 0.7 m. There is the coat of arms of counts Platers family and years number 1729 on the stone sides. Count Platers bought Kraslavas estate in this year and Kraslava got rights of the small village. From the legend comes, that in 1729. in Kraslava came king August the Strong from Poland to hunt, who was sitiing on this stone, therefore stone has its name.

From there a beautiful nature look to the river Daugava can be viewed. In 1909 by this secular stone Latvian writer Antons Austriņš was creating his works.

On this stone is inscribed the name of the river Daugava in 7 languages: Estonian, Finnish, Russian, Polish, German, Liv, Latvian. There is a possibility to see Latvian and Byelorussian boundary post, and also station of early notification and monitoring (quality control of water in Daugava), which is one in all Latvia.

The mosquito trail introduces you to forest and swamp landscapes, where you can see various plants: hogweeds, sedges, as well as encounter forest bees. Possibility to visit the "concert hall" of the swamp, in the spruce forest, to see the burrows of wild boars, specially grown trees (birch, spruce and pine).

Drīdzis is the deepest lake in the Baltic States. The lake has characteristic elongated shape, many bays, nine islands; the biggest of them is the island Bernātu sala (13,9 ha). Lake is curving like a river. It makes many creeks and peninsulas. Maximum depth reaches 65,1 m. The length of the shore reaches 11 km. The widest place is 1 km. From the hills the great panorama of many lakes is seen. Drīdzis is in the territory of a protected nature park. It’s necessary to have passports!

Daugavas loki (bends) is a nature park in Daugava river valley between Kraslava and Naujene in Augsdaugavas protected landscape area. The territory of park is 129.9 km2, 76 km2 of which are located in Daugavpils and 53.9 km2 in Kraslavas region. It had been founded in 1990 to preserve the unique and peculiar Daugavas river valley landscape, its valuable natural complexes, its biodiversity of plant and animal species, as well as its cultural-historic monuments. The most characteristic nature feature of "Daugavas loki" is 10 big Daugavas river bends (meanders) between Kraslava and Naujene. Each of this river bend's length reaches up to 4 - 6 km, but the distance between the bends on the straightaway is only 2 - 3 km. Each of these bends has its own name. In 2011, it was included in the Latvian national list of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Sīvers is the 9th biggest lake in Latvia. It is located on monticule of Dagda (159.4 m a.s.l.) The space of lake is 18.74 km2. The lake is very twisting, irt has 25 islands. The biggest of them is Lielā sala (The Big island). On the island grow hazels, oaks, maples, linden and a lot of dofferent berries : raspberries, red bilberries and cranberries. The maximum depth of the lake is 24.5 m, the average depth - 14 m. The lake Sīvers with the other lakes makes the richest group of lakes in Latvia. It can be very good seen from the Sauleskalns (mountain).

Here is dark as chocolate clay. In the hillfort were found remains of stone axes, animal bones, earthenware.

It is located in Robežnieki, on the shore of the lake Lielais Gusena ezers, in picturesque neighbourhood with naturally preserved stages of survey, there are also two facilitated resting areas. The total length of the path is 1,3 km. There are 15 stops with information stands and attractive tasks along the path. The park’s dendrological composition is bright- 70 different species of trees and shrubs. There are snails that were brought from Spain. There is a grotto in the park. This grotto is the sign of romance and melancholy. The observation deck at the palace offers fascinating views of the river Daugava and the city.

It is located in Piedruja, in the upper course valley of the river Daugava, in the territory of Augšdaugava protected landscape area, which is rich with rare and protected species of plants and animals, as well as with cultural landscape and historical monuments. Walking along Piedruja path, Stone of Daugava can be seen. On this stone the name of Daugava river is engraved in seven languages – Estonian, Finnish, Russian, Polish, German, Livonian, and Latvian. Located near river Daugava. Piedruja trail is unique, because walking on it, you can observe the life of residents living on the left bank of the river Daugava, our neighbours Belorussians.
